Dario said he would be looking to get a permanent striker before the end of the week but he's back tracked and now says he will probably be loaning a youngster from the premiership, with a view of a season long loan next season, report The Sentinel.
Dario is desperate to find cover, or competition, for Dean Ashton and Steve Jones as the season draws to a close. Ashton and Jones have scored 31 between them this season and remain the only two players with a respectable goal tally, Dario hopes a new striker will take the pressure off them.
A possible name is Neil Mellor from Liverpool. The big powerful striker had been onloan at West Ham for most of the season till he was sent home last month, there he scored 2 goals in 2 appearances. Whilst it's disappointing form, he has premiership experience and 34 goals in the reserve league for Liverpool isn't too bad. Crewe had a loan bid for Mellor turned down 2 seasons ago.
