Iceman on way to reds: report

Twenty-year-old Emil Hallfredsson, who plys his trade for FH Hafnarfjordur, has been watched by scouts from Gresty Road for some time and Crewe have reportedly opened the bidding for the winger.

According to tribalfootball.com, Dunfermline Athletic, Everton and Norwegian outfit Tromso have all been tracking him but Crewe appear to be slightly ahead in the race for his signature.

Hallfredsson impressed in Hafnarfjordur's 4-3 aggregate victory over Dunfermline in the preliminary stages of the UEFA cup this year, but is widely recognised as too good for the part-timers.

More later.
