Thordarson told the official site "I thought the players started the game well and there was excitement and action for 90 plus minutes. We played well for the first quarter of an hour and had two or three good chances before we started to be really tested with the penalty given against us.
Thordarson also singled out praise for Clayton Donaldson who netted Crewe's second goal
"The supporters have seen a good game for Clayton today, but I still think there is more to come from him. He can still improve in one or two areas, with the pace he has he should have gone for it a bit more.
"We were creating chances and it was a sitter for Miller when he hit the crossbar. We could have scored even more goals but it doesn't matter too much. This result and performance should give us confidence to face anyone.
"We have to take this hard work, passion and commitment into the next game and beyond because it is the start of a long journey for us.
