Crewe carried on their pre-season making it three wins from four with a 4-2 win over Conference North side Hyde United.
The Railwaymen gave a debut to new loan signing David Button in a team that does not look far off one that will start against Dagenham and Redbridge.
Joel Grant (13mins) netted the first and before to long the Alex had doubled their lead when Daniel ODonnell (19mins) poked in a set piece from Billy Jones. Crewe pressed to add more goals but it was Hyde who halved the deficit with a goal before half time when a long range effort from Robbie Smith beat Button to make the half time score 2-1.
Three minutes after the restart Hyde found themselves level when the Crewe defence was caught out and Paul Gedman slotted home for The Tigers.
That lead only lasted for five minutes when Crewe were awarded a penalty after Clayton Donaldson was tripped in the box by Hyde keeper Michael Jones. Billy Jones stepped up to take the penalty and coolly slotted it in to make it 3-2.
Crewe sealed their fourth and last goal of the game in the 69th min with a one-two between Anthony Elding and Joel Grant and it was Grant who pounced on a parried save after Elding had the initial shot on goal to secure his second goal of the night and his third of the pre-season.
Crewe now have a break before their next pre-season match, the next game for the Railwaymen is on Wednesday 29th July when they entertain a Wolves Xi at Gresty Road.
