Ryan who is 27 years old and is 5ft 11' has been used mainly as a striker but can operate in midfield.
Lowe who has just been released by Chester City who cancelled his contract with immediate effect has joined up with Crewe on trial. Lowe has a very good goal scoring record in League Two and the Conferance, netting 54 times in his career.
Lowe came from the non-league scene six years ago when he joined Shrewsbury from Unibond team Burscough. During his five years at Gay Meadow, Ryan made 194 apperances scoring 37 goals in the process. He then joined Chester City before the transfer window closed in March 2005 and again he carried on his goal scoring exploits netting 17 goals in 42 apperances.
Ryan who is good friends with Luke Rodgers from his Shrewsbury days will be looking to get a contract from his trial. Although he can not sign anything until the present season is over.
