Higgy Hinting At Coaching Switch?

Hignett, who turned 34 earlier this year, arrived on loan and in his two games has shown he still has it in him. He always said in interviews since leaving Crewe for Middlesborough that Crewe is the one club he'd like to return to, and even manage if the oppourtunity arose.

He was given the chance to return by Mickey Adams and once that chance came, he simply couldn't turn it down:

"It's great to be here,' he said. 'Once I got the call, it wasn't too hard to make my mind up. I have looked after myself and I am raring to go.

"I have always said it is a club I wanted to go back to at some stage if I got the opportunity. Fortunately for me, I have got that chance and I am desperate to do well."

In his 11 year absence from the club has left him wondering what he'll be doing once he hangs up his boots. He admits that management and coaching is something he'd like to do and who better to learn from than Dario Gradi MBE...

"Coaching and management is something that I have been thinking about. I have done my UEFA 'B' coaching badge. There is no better place to learn than here. I had a great grounding with Dario and enjoyed every minute of it."

But after all that, there is really only one reason he returned to Gresty Road...

"My dad Alf is made up because he loved coming to watch Crewe,' Craig laughed. 'In fact, he kept coming even after I left because he enjoys the football they play."
