He said: “We always out shout the home supporters at Crewe and we will need our fans more than ever on Saturday.
“During my time at Edgeley Park the two teams have normally been close to each other in the table, but that’s not the case this season.
“Crewe are a hoping to win promotion whilst we need the points for very different reasons.
“It’s a Cheshire derby and a fixture our fans look forward to. Tickets sales are going very well and I would love to think we can fill the whole side.
“It would give the lads a real boost when they run out to see 1,700 County fans cheering them on.
“And that’s why I’ve sanctioned the purchase of more than 1,000 blue and white balloons.
“The atmosphere at Cheltenham with 600 County fans was phenomenal – just imagine what it could be like with three times that number!
“The team has been showing resilience and fighting spirit lately and you have responded with some magnificent support.
“Let’s carry that on this weekend. I would appeal to all our supporters to try and make it on Saturday and help us turn Gresty Road into a sea of blue & white.”
