Heat Main Factor Says DG

"I thought we played well"
It was over 100 degrees formost of the first half at Selhurst Park yesterday, thats 32 celsius. The likes of Brammer, Cochrane and Rix who were running and tackling most of the match felt it more than most but every player on the pitch was suffering and Dario blames it for the loss.

"It was obviously the same for both teams but they just coped better. The heat was the deciding factor throughout. We have never had to play in conditions like that and Wimbledon knew how to handle it better than we did."

"I thought we played well. We started promisingly and made their keeper work much harder than our own."

With Jones and Robinson up front it wasn't the most experienced forward line with only 1 division one start between them. Dario did bring some good news in the way that Dean Ashton is back in training.

"We are still missing some key players and we certainly struggled without Dean Ashton - the only positive is he is now back training.

Having missed out on Luke Rodgers and Stockport and Crewe still arguing over Anthony Tonkin's value Dario says the squad still isn't right and a few more faces will be coming in.

"I still need to bring in some new faces but we have a chance to stay out of trouble this season. This was an okay performance but we still must do much better."
