Crewe make the long trip upto the North East and visit Danny Wilson's Hartlepool United.
It will be Crewe's first league visit in nearly twenty years to Victoria Park when back in 1988 the Railwaymen came away with a 3-0 win and they did a double over the Monkey Hangers that season with a similar score line later on in that season.

Hartlepool this season have managed to win four games at home with three draws and two defeats with only Walsall and Brighton coming away with all three points.
In their last home game Hartlepool romped home to a 3-1 win over Tranmere Rovers with joint leading scorer James Brown netting that day, Brown has already scored six goal this season along with Richard Barker.

Hartlepool where promoted last season as they finished runners-up to Walsall and go in to tomorrows game level on points with the Alex a win for either team will not see them move up the league but would see them close the gap as both team will be looking for a good run over the festive period.

Crewe Team News

Crewe have a few doubts ahead of the trip to Victoria Park with Chris McCready and Gary Roberts major doubts after both had been struck down with a throat infection and illness respectivly. If both fail to train on Friday then Mat Bailey and Ben Rix and even Michael O'Connor could be called upon.
Already ruled out are loan players David Gray who is out for at least three weeks with a ankle injury while Cedric Bayesa is back at Southampton having tratment on a groin strain.

Ryan Lowe looks set to miss his out as the player is still struggling with a thigh strain that kept him out of the Walsall game last Saturday.

Lee Barnard trained with the first team but the Spurs striker will be at least a week or two away as the player looks to build up fitness after being out for so long.

Hartlepool United Team News

The Monkey Hangers like Crewe have several key players ruled out or who are doubtful for the visit of Crewe.

Former Rotherham winger Andy Monkhouse is ruled out with a knee injury while long serving Richie Humphreys is a doubt with a foot injury although x-rays showed no break for the former Sheffield Wednesday player.

Other players that are doubtful include Jamie Cunnie, Joel Porter and Anthony Sweeney who all have knee injurys while Michael Rae and Ben Clark are ruled out with hamstrings.
