Mid table place Brighton make the long journey up to the Alexandra Stadium on Saturday and look to make it three wins on the spin away from home. The Seagulls who have had an indifferent season on and off the pitch are still having problems regarding their new stadium and after the 4-1 defeat back in August to the Railwaymen more or less ended the reign of previous manager Mark McGee.
Now former player Dean Wilkins who has a steady record since taking the manager post back in September manages the Seagulls. Brighton have faired better away from home this season with 8 wins, 8 defeats and one draw on the road and scoring 20 goals and conceding 18 in the process.
Crewe on the other hand will be looking to bounce back from the 3-1 defeat against top of the table flyers Scunthorpe and will be looking to do the double over the Seagulls after thumping them 4-1 back in August with goals that Sunday coming from Billy Jones, Ryan Lowe penalty and Nicky Maynard grabbing a brace and Brighton's Dean Cox getting the only goal for the Seagull.
Team news for Brighton is that striker Alex Revell looks set to start for the first time since January. Youngster Joe Gatting has been struggling all week with a foot injury and looks set to miss out while their could be a recall for Albion's leading scorer Jake Robinson who looks to replace Nick Ward who has been on international duty with Australia. Manager Dean Wilkins will bring back Joe Lynch to the heart of defence; Lynch limped out Brighton's 1-0 away win at Gillingham but is now fit. Other players who will miss the trip to Crewe are Zoumana Bakayogo (ankle), Charlie Oatway (ankle), Paul Reid (knee), Adam Hinshelwood (knee) and Tom Fraser who will start a three-match ban after being sent off last week against Bristol City.
Team news from Gresty Road is that boss Dario Gradi has a major selection headache with four players coming through training today. Billy Jones who has been out of the last two games looks set to return at the expense of Daniel O'Donnell while Michael O'Connor could replace Gary Roberts who has not trained after a shocking tackle from Scunthorpe's Richard Hinds left Roberts with severe bruising and a nasty cut on his ankle. David Vaughan and Nicky Maynard add to the manager's team selection after coming back from groin and hamstring injuries respectively. Gradi must decide on a team that will combat the possible Diamond Formation Brighton look to employ tomorrow.
