Crewe finally tie up the deal of Billy Jones with the former Exeter City defender signing a three-year contract.

Jones became Crewe's third signing of the season and came hot on the heals of Steven Schumacher who signed yesterday from Bradford City.
Jones cost Crewe £50k rising to £65k based on appearances and teams up with former team-mate Danny Woodards who signed back in January.

23-year old Jones started his career with Leyton Orient before joining Kidderminster Harriers in January 2005, although he could not stop Kiddy from relegation and soon found himself signing for fellow Conference side Exeter City in the summer of 2005.

Jones told the official website "It's fantastic to have signed for Crewe. I heard a couple of days ago that Crewe were interested and when they came in with an offer and it got accepted by Exeter, I was really pleased and I couldn't wait to come up and sign.

"The people at the club, the club itself and obviously Dario were big influences in making me want to come to Crewe and the ground, the training ground and the facilities here are fantastic. And of course League One football. After the disappointment of missing out on promotion with Exeter I'm delighted to get myself into League football again.

"I've been speaking to Danny (Woodards) ever since he left Exeter, I speak to him quite a bit and I'm really looking forward to what's coming ahead now."
