Ex-Burnley midfielder Tony Grant's move to the Alex has hit a stumbling block. Under the transfer window regulations, which FIFA President Sepp Blatter enforced upon the Football League, Grant is not eligible to sign for a football club until January. This is due to the fact that Grant was payed by Bristol City whilst on trial at Ashton Gate whilst the transfer window was shut.
This absurd ruling yet further points to Sepp Blatter as a footballing idiot who is interfering where he is neither required nor wanted.
However, Dario Gradi is to speak to the PFA in the hope that some sense will prevail rather than Grant be forced to wait until New Year's Day to sign. Should Grant not be given permission to sign, Gradi has offered him the chance to continue to train with the Alex to keep his fitness up.
