Latest player linked with a loan move is ex-player Stephen Foster who is at Championship side Burnley but has found it hard to stay in the first team.
26-year-old Foster joined the Clarets in the summer after coming through the youth ranks at Gresty Road and he made 223 appearances for the Railwaymen.
Foster's team mate John Spicer is still mulling over a move to Crewe although his former team Bournemouth are now watching and they too may offer a lifeline for first team football.
