A move for Seth Johnson who has been released by Premiership newcomers Derby County has been knocked on the head by Dario Gradi.

28-year-old Johnson was linked last season with a move to Gresty Road but Johnson wanted to stay and fight for his place.
Gradi still feels the former player is still good for the Championship and has recently been linked with a move to Hull City.

Gradi told the official website "I'm surprised Seth has not been offered anything at Derby because he was in the team there. We were interested in him in the past but we have brought two new midfielders in and don't really need another one at this stage.

"I'm sure Seth is good enough to get a Championship club at the very least anyway. He is beyond us because he is still a very good player and has a lot of offer at a higher level."
