Former Crewe midfielder Geoff Thomas was diagnosed with leukemia in August 2002. Thomas' life has been transformed but has recieved massive support from his family and football fans, especially fans of both Crewe and Crystal Palace, his two main clubs. Thomas played for Crewe between 1984-1987 and returned for a year in 2001. He made over 500 appearance's for 9 clubs in his 20 year career.

Geoff was due to be an honorary guest at the Crystal Palace Vs Crewe game last weekend, 15th November, where there was going to be a massive "Leukemia Research Foundation" fundraising event but due to international call ups the game was called off an reschedualed for the 15th December, unfortunately Geoff can't make the game at Selhurst Park.

He will, however, be a guest at Crystal Palace Vs Nottm Forest, with Forest being another former club of his, and there will be a fundraising event. If you live in the south you would be welcome by Palace fans to show your support for Geoff Thomas on Saturday 13th December, if you can't make Crewe's trip to West Brom that day.

Some good news though. Geoff will be having a bone marrow transplant in January 2004 after finding his sister was a suitable match.

CreweAlex.com wish Geoff a full and speedy recovery.
