Burnley have announced the signing of Stephen Foster who today penned a two-year-deal at Turf Moor. Foster had been offered a two-year-deal at Gresty Road but it seems the lure of Championship football was too much of a temptation. Another Championship club, barnsley had offered Foster a two-year deal but it seems that Burnley manager Steve Cotterill has persuaded him to sign.
The 25-year-old Warrington born defender signed professional forms back in 1998 for the Alex after coming throught the academy.
The former England schoolboy international made his debut back in 1998-1999 season in a 1-0 defeat against Bury. It was not until the following season that Fozzie established himself at the heart of defence making 21 apperances. Foster has since go on to make 200 league apperances scoring 17 goals in the process. Last season he played 36 times, scoring 3 goals in the process but it was to end with relegation for the Alex.
