24-year-old Maynard joined Bristol City in a £2.25m deal back in 2008 singing a four year deal at Ashton Gate.
Winsford born Maynard had been under intense transfer speculation last summer and it was believed that City rejected a £6m plus deal from Leicester City on the August transfer deadline day which would of netted the Railwaymen £750k.
Only last week Maynard rejected a move to Premiership bottom club Wigan Athletic but now it seems that West Ham could tie the services of the striker after they had a £2.5m bid accepted which if completed will net the Railwaymen £55k.
