21-year-old Williams decided to leave the Alex after his contract expired although he was offered a three-year deal and the number one shirt at the Alex.
Fon Williams had been linked with a host of clubs including Blackburn Rovers, Derby County and Swansea City but suprised everyone with his move to local neighbours Stockport County.
Holland to the Stoke Sentinel "The situation with Owain has been more or less resolved now. A fee has been agreed between ourselves and Stockport for an undisclosed figure.
"Ideally, we'd like Owain to have played in our first team and fulfilled his potential.
"Given that, the figure isn't what it perhaps might have been.
"But given what we anticipated a tribunal would have come up with, we've probably done as well as we could have hoped."
