Doncaster went 2-0 up in the Conference play-off final inside 55 minutes. Ex-Crewe trainee Tierney, who was once on the verge of a £750k move to Liverpool, missed a free header from 10 yards out. This helped Dagenham to bring it right back to 2-2 in 20 minutes.
The game went into extra time and on the 118th minute in the second half Tierney struck. When a Donny player cut in down the left he squared it to an unmarked Tierney who toe poked home and sent Doncaster up into the Nationwide.
In Division Three, Colin Cramb and former loanee Jon Newby couldn't help Bury as they played out a home 0-0 draw at home to Bournemouth in the Semi-Final 1st leg.
In Division One former Alex player, Neil Warnock, who played a season at Gresty Road in the 70s managed his team, Sheff Utd, to a 1-1 draw at Nott'm Forest.
