Striker Paul Edwards was injured during a pre-season friendly at Altrincham when he picked up a bad sprain on his ankle, after 3 weeks out of action he made a quick recvoery and came off the bench tonight. Edwards should see a good season this season with Dario putting his faith in him after Hulse left. Also Alex Morris, who's played a couple of games for the Alex in division two, returned after a 'stress fracture' to the shin.

In the starting 11 saw two former Crewe players and now Crewe coaches with James Collins and Neil Critchley(Bench). American triallist Chris Karigianis got another run out. The most senior of the players was Lee Bell who was in midfield.

It was Lee Bell who got the winner for Crewe 5 minutes from time. Edwards got 30 minutes of the game after he replaced Alex Morris.
