19-year-old Shroot who is a Dons supporter came through the schoolboy and academy ranks at Wimbledon FC and arrived at AFC Wimbledon in 2006 via Staines.
The tricky winger gained two caps for Northern Ireland U-20's in March 2007 but has only made 23 league and cup apperances netting only once for the Dons.
Wimbledon manager Terry Brown told www.afcwimbledon.co.uk "Robin is a very talented and skillful young man who can only benefit from an association with Dario Gradi and a club with such a fine track record in youth development."
