24-year-old Donaldson penned a 3-year-deal with the Railwaymen but is still awaiting international clearance after Crewe and Hibs agreed a fee in between £100-150k.

Donaldson joined Hibernian last summer after he was out of contract at York City making 86 appearances for the Minstermen netting 42 times in the process.

Bradford born Donaldson started his career with Hull City but found it hard to break into the first team and only made three starts he and was subseqently loaned out to Harrogate Town, Scarborough and Halifax Town.

Last season Donaldson featured 21 times for the Hibees netting 6 goals including a hat-trick against Kilmarnock but with the arrival of a new manager on the shape of Mixu Paatelainen, Donaldson found himself down the pecking order.

Donaldson became Steve Hollands seventh signing of the season and will hope to feature against Walsall this Saturday.
