Does Robinson's loyalty pave way for new Crewe arrival?

Paul Robinson has decided to stay at Leeds United after Villa could not match his wage demands. After Leeds Chairman John Mackenzie accepted Villa's £3m offer for the young stopper, Peter Reid claimed that reported Alex target and former loanee Danny Milosevič would step up into the number two keeper role at Elland Road behind veteran Nigel Martyn.

The failure to sway Robinson to Villa opens the door for the Aussie keeper to join Crewe for a years loan or even permanently. George Bankole is free to go out on loan in the last year of his contract after Clayton Ince made the first choice role his own in last year's promotion winning campaign.

Dario Gradi does not want to blood the amazingly talented Stuart Tomlinson for at least another season, so a decent goalkeeper is needed for back up or to provide competition for Trinidad's number one.

Danny had a baptism of fire; making his one appearance away at Boundary Park in a tense promotion battle that Crewe won 3-1 and in doing so got the ball rolling to consolidate second position. He made three breathtaking saves before a collision with Wayne Andrews forced him to go back to Elland Road.
