Crewe have moved swiftly to sign a striker after the injury to Nicky Maynard.
Charlton Athletics' Chris Dickson looks set to sign on the dotted line after the two clubs came to an agreement over the players loan move to Gresty Road.

The player is highly recommended by Addicks manager Alan Pardew and former player Luke Varney.

Dickson has agreed a six-month loan at the club and will be in the squad that travels to Bristol Rovers this Saturday. The 22-year-old striker made his debut in Charlton's Carling Cup win over Swindon Town after he joined the south-east club back in March 2007.

'Dicko' as he is known to the Charlton team signed from non-league outfit Dulwich Hamlet after his goal scoring exploits impressed Charlton. He scored 31 goals in 35 games and that prompted Charlton to pay £35k to secure his signature with the Addicks.

Dickson will join Lee Barnard who looks set to complete his loan move tomorrow as well.
