Semi, on loan at Crewe since October's 3-0 win over Watford, has progressed into a vital part of Crewe's defence and is contracted to the reds until New Years Eve.
Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has agreed to let the former England Youth star come to South Cheshire permanently and all Gradi and Chairman John Bowler now have to do is to persuade the 21-year-old that Crewe is where his future lies.
"Now we have to try and reach an agreement with the player," Dario told crewealex.net.
"I don't really know if he would want to come here on a permanent basis, but he seems to have enjoyed himself or he wouldn't have extended his loan into a third month," he added.
"He has great potential and we have seen something in him."
"It is now a question of him wanting to come here and developing his game or whether someone else will pay him more money."
