Dean and Rob Offered New Deals

Dean Ashton and Rob Hulse are both out of contract this time next year and leaving their contracts to run out would be suicide. Dario and Neil Baker have offered the two main, and highly rated, Alex strikers new 2 year contracts that will keep them here till 2006, unless we sell. The deals are also set to make the two youngsters the highest earners at the club... figures probably of £3k or £4k a week?

Until a couple of months ago many Alex fans have been resigned to losing Hulse after an excellent season but now it seems Hulse wants to stay at the Alex. We did report before and during last season that we know Dario wanted Hulse and Ashton to prove themselves in Division One and would do everything to keep the two for just one more season in Div 1 atleast. If the two can prove themselves to be goalscorers in Division One next season the Alex can expect offers to roll in next summer.

Assistant Manager, Neil Baker, confirmed offers have been made to the two players: "Contract talks with Rob and Dean are ongoing. Rob's offer was made towards the end of the season and Dean is going to be made an offer."
