Dario is still keen on bring the half Irish and half Tunisian triallist Eamon Zayed to Crewe. The only problem is the compensation we would owe to Bray Wanderers in the summer, because he's under 23.
There could still be a chance of getting the 20 year old onloan for the rest of the season whilst Crewe and Bray work out what the compensation fee would be should Dario wish to sign Zayed, thought to be the ready made Dean Ashton back up.
DG told the official site, CreweAlex.net: "We haven't ruled out trying to get a striker in and we haven't ruled out the Irish lad Eamon Zayed although first and foremost it would only be on loan because there would be a lot to sort out in regards to compensation under FIFA's new rules.
"It maybe that we go with what we've got but we haven't ruled out borrowing him for the rest of the season, with a view to signing him once we know and understand what the compensation fee would be. It is a little bit complicated and I've left it up to adminstration staff to look into it."
Zayed scored 25 goals in 53 games for his current side Bray Wanderers.
Meanwhile, dare I say, Crewe are being linked with John Sutton, brother of Chris. The Raith striker was watched by Neil Baker in Raith's 5-2 defeat at St. Johnstone. Raith want £100k for the striker who's scored 16 in 24 games this season.
