Dario - He's not a player we need

Stefan Oakes has played a part in the last 5 games of the season on the left of midfield. After being released by Leicester City Dario said he won't be signing the 21 year old...

"Stefan is not in our thoughts. I have spoken to him and thanked him for his efforts. I think he's a good player and he has been useful to us, but he's not a player we need."

Dario has made it clear he wants a left back so that David Vaughan can play further forward next season, number one target is Paul Tierney and it seems talks are on going with Man Utd and Paul. The obvious deal would be a year loan...

"We have worked out what we can afford and what we can't. Now we will talk about possible recruitment, but we won't be able to do a great deal because we are still going to be tightening our belts in the First Division."

Dario went on to say that the luxury isn't there to gamble on 2 or 3 players as it was a couple of years ago...

"If I had the luxury as I did a couple of years ago of bringing in the likes of Geoff Thomas and Wayne Collins to complement the squad I may have been able to do something with Stefan. But I'm not any more."
