Crewe emerged from last night's double header with 4-0 and 5-0 victories at Newcastle Town and Quorn respectively. Neil Baker took charge of the side to face Newcastle Town, which was comprised mainly of first teamers although there were starting places for youngsters such as Andrew Bond and Alex Morris. The Alex eased to a 4-0 victory with goals from Steve Jones, Michael Higdon, Kenny Lunt and Ben Rix. Billy Jones, in his new midfield position, was many fans choice for man of the match displaying passing equal to that of Gerrard or Alonso, although Ben Rix gave him a run for his money with an impressive display.
Dario led the side to face Luke Varney's former club Quorn with Crewe emerging with a 5-0 victory. Trialists Michael Boulding and Pavol Suhaj featured in the game and both managed to get on the scoresheet. Gary Roberts, Justin Cochrane and Luke Varney also bagged a goal. Gary Roberts impressed in midfield although many of the Alex faithful were unimpressed by Pavol Suhaj.
