Crewe take on Aldershot Town knowing that a win would keep the Railwaymen in the play-offs.

This is Crewe's first game against the new named Aldershot after the team originally went out of business in 1992 after they filed for bankruptcy. The new Aldershot Town was formed by the supporters of the club and slowly climed up the leagues as they rose like a phoenix from the flames.

Crewe last played against Aldershot in a league match in 1987 where that day the Shots beat Crewe 3-1 at Gresty Road, that season Aldershot did the double with a 1-0 win at the Recreation Ground.

This season Aldershot sit in 9th place in the league and are in their second season in League Two after they finished 15th in League Two last season.

Crewe Team News:-

Crewe boss Gudjon Thordarson looks set to change the team once again ahead of the clash against Aldershot Town by adpoting a 4-3-3 formation.

Thordarson looks set to recall Matt Mitchel-King who had picked up an injury in the defeat to Stockport in the JPT. While Anthony Elding looks set for a recall to the starting XI after impressing after coming on as a sub last weekend.

Also Ashley Westwood looks set to make his full debut while Shaun Miller looks set to make his first start of the season as well after coming on four times this season as a sub.

Clayton Donaldson is still ruled out until the end of October while James Baley will not be risked as the midfielder continues his comeback from a hip injury.

Aldershot Town Team News:-

Shots boss Gary Waddock has delved into the loan market by signing Spurs midfielder Dean Perrett on loand and the England U-19 goes straight into the squad that faces Crewe. Waddock has a headache in defence as injuries hamper the Shots preperation for the trip to Crewe.

Defender Andy Sandell is out with an ankle injury which was picked up in the 1-1 draw to Port Vale, while Shots captain Adam Hinshelwood is out with a knee injury which he picked up the other week in the 2-2 draw against Hereford.

Waddock also has a major doubt with goalkeeper Mikhael Jaimez-Ruiz picking up a knock in training on Thursday so if he fails a fitness test youngster Clark Masters will be on standby to make his full debut.

Although Waddock does look to have Ben Herd back after the player came through training. Former Crewe player Anthony Charles is the only first choice defender availiable and will make up a patched up defence with Dave Winfield, CHris Blackburn and Anthony Straker while another former Crewe striker John Grant will look to come back and haunt his former club.
