18-year-old centre-back Steven Clancy will be hoping to impress the Railwaymen management team as the player arrives on trial.

Clancy has been told by Aston Villa that he will not be offered a new contract when his present one expires this coming summer.

The trainee has progressed through Villa and also been capped at U-16, U-17 and U-18 for England and also faced Crewe when the teams met in the 4th Round of this seasons FA Youth Cup which Villa won 3-1.

Baker told The Sentinel ''We first noticed Steve in our Youth Cup game against Villa and we think he's a player with some potential. He'll be available in the summer so we'll have a good look at him while he's here.''
