20-year-old Smith only joined Aberdeen back in August 2006 and this after he had only signed a four-deal only two months before with his previous club Sunderland.
5ft 10' Smith has found opportunities difficult at Pittodrie and has only turned out for the Dons three times this season. Smith made his debut in English football with Sunderland in a League Cup game against Cheltenham, that debut ended with him receiving two bookings. He also spent two months on loan at Huddersfield Town at the beginning of 2006.
