Altrincham opened the scoring through Coverley on the 20th minute, then Thornley put them 2-0 up minutes later. after a rubbish display in the first 30 minutes Crewe started to impose themselfs on the game and when a one-two with Colin Little and Lee Bell put Bell infront of an open goal after rounding the keeper it was just a matter of slotting the ball away and Lee Bell did that!
In the second half Crewe were the stronger team with Higdon heading Crewe back on level terms 11 minutes after the restart and the winning goal 5 minutes later was Little's when he tapped it in from close range after Steve Jones' head hit the bar.

The final attendance was 482 and Crewe progress into the second round of the Cheshire Senior Cup, which we won last year.
