Crewe miss out on two Premiership keepers

With Ince out for the next week, atleast, after going off injured against West Ham Dario is in search for a temporary replacement. Dario revealed today that two keepers top of is list had been snapped up.

Nico Vaesen was signed onloan at Crystal Palace yesterday afternoon, from Birmingham, whilst Everton's reserve keeper Paul Gerrard is set for a loan move to Bradford City.

He told CreweAlex.net - "We thought about signing Vaesen but then it turned out he has gone to Crystal Palace, and then we rang David Moyes at Everton to ask about Paul Gerrard, but apparently he is on his way to Bradford City."

The natural replacement for Ince would be Ademole Bankole but the Nigerian went on a 3 month loan to Barnet in February and Dario doesn't think Barnet would allow him to return...

"We have investigated the possibility of recalling George (Bankole) but we cannot do so unless Barnet agree to it, and I don't think they are likely to do that.

"I'm not too bothered about that though because we let George go because Stuart was doing so well and I think even if he was still here I met play Stuart ahead of him anyway."

If Dario can't find a loan keeper then he may be forced to go with 19 year old Stuart Tomlinson, who had a impressive 10 minutes against West Ham, with 17 year old Owain Fon Williams on the bench, but he's very reluctent to throw them in at the deep end...

"We have two good young goalkeepers in Stuart and Owain and if I had to I would be happy to go with them. Certainly I won't be bringing in a young goalkeeper to go ahead of Stuart, but ideally I wouldn't want to throw a young goalkeeper in at the deep end."

So the search goes on...

"We do have several other names in mind and it's going to be a busy day today."

(How about Milosevic!?)
