Crewe look to Spice things up.

Crewe look set to sign John Spicer from Championship side Burnley on a months loan. Only stumbling block is that Crewe are looking to receive permission to play the 23-year-old midfielder in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on Tuesday. The player has only played two games this season at Turf Moor and has found himself way down the pecking order.

The former England U-21 player joined Burnley for £35k back in August 2005 from AFC Bournemouth and although he played as an attacking midfielder he found himself playing right back towards the end of last season.
