23-year-old Woodards is a former Chelsea trainee, who graduated to full professional ranks in 2003-04 season. Although Woodards did not break in to the first team at Stamford Bridge he was a regular in the reserves.
He was released in the summer of 2005 and joined Wycombe Wanderers for a short spell before he joined Exeter City in October 2005. After impressing at St James Park, Woodards was given a deal until 2005-06 which was then extended to 2006-07. With the player out of contract it seems that the Grecians are going to cash in on the player albeit £5k.
