It seems that Crewe could be thwarted yet again as they look to bring in players during the transfer window.

Crewe MAD can reveal that the Railwaymen have been keeping tabs on Shrewsbury's highly rated midfielder Dave Edwards but look to be thwarted with interest from bigger clubs.

Norwich boss Peter Grant has made his interest known for the Welsh U-21 international but may have to fend off the likes of Manchester United, Everton and Cardiff City to caputre the hot prospect.

Edwards has made a name for himself with some impresive displays for the Shrews, which has seen him net five times and has Crewe and a host of other clubs flocking to Gay Meadow.

Also Crewe also look set to miss out on a player who has just been placed on the transfer list.

Cheltenham Town's Brian Wilson has just been placed on the transfer list as the Robins look to cash in on their prized asset.
Wilson who is out of contract in the summer has attracted interest from a host of clubs including Crewe, although the Manchester born player looks for a move back to the North West it seems that Nottingham Forest may move for the former Stoke City trainee.

A fee of around £100k may secure the services for the fast winger who has an eye for goal and impressed on Tuesday against Crewe as a host of scouts watched over players from both sides.
