It seems that Crewe are been linked with two strikers at the moment. Top of the list is Hull City's Ben Burgess, the 6'3 striker who has been dogged with injuries seems to be regaining full fitness and has already made two substitute apperances in Hull opening fixtures.
24-year old Burgess's situation at the KC Stadium did look in doubt during the summer when ex-manager Peter Taylor looked to off load at least two strikers. Taylor left to take over at Crystal Palace and Colchester's former manager Phil Parkinson took the reigns and with that it seems that Burgess may have a future for the time being.
The other stiker linked with Crewe is Coventry City's Andy Morrell. The former Wrexham striker has found himself down the pecking order at The Rioch Arena and has yet to feature this season for the Sky Blues.
31 year-old Doncaster born Morrell came into the game late on but has an excellent stike ratio and in one season alone he scored 34 goals for Wrexham. Morrell signed for Coventry back in summer 2003 on a free and impressed in his first season scoring 9 goals. Overall he has scored 57 goals in 129 apperances.
