Crewe draw Grimsby Town away in Carling Cup

The Railwaymen face another daunting journey to Lincolnshire for the second year running as this time they face Grimsby Town of League Two. Last season Crewe faced Lincoln City which saw them get a right mauling as they lost 5-1.
Grimsby Town endured a good run last season in the Carling Cup seeing off Derby County and then Spurs the round after only to lose to Newcastle United in the 3rd round.
The game will prove a stern test to the Alex as Grimsby just failed to gain promotion to League One via the play-final, Crewe fell through the trap door into League One.
The tie will take place w/c 21 August at Grimsby's ground Blundell Park.
