27-year-old Bell who was player of the year last season for Macclesfield Town has put some impressive displays for the Silkmen.
His displays for the Moss Rose outfit alerted a few clubs especially after Bell rejected a new contract at the end of the season.
A few clubs had expressed an interest in the Alsager born midfielder but with the departure of James Bailey to Derby County earlier in the week, Dario Gradi acted quickly to sign the former player up on a free.
Bell left the Alex back in January 2007 and headed into non-league by playing for Burton Albion and then during the summer signed for Mansfield Town who at the time were in League Two.
Bell picked up a serious knee injury in February 2008 and unfortunately the Stags were relegated to the Blue Square Conference.
Bell was released by the Stags at the end of the season and went onto sign for Macclesfield Town initially on a one-year deal but in April 2009 Bell signed a one year extension.
