Crewe boss bemoans no money for strengthening squad.

Gradi told BBC Radio Stoke "We can't afford to bring anyone in anyway, that's the top and bottom of it."

Gradi went onto to say "We would have to sell to buy. If I told the board I'd found a real bargain, I'm sure they'd have a good go at scraping the money together.

"We don't have much money to spend, and so that's why we do so much work on the kids in our academy."

In recent weeks the in the run up to the January transfer window striker Calvin Zola and John Brayford have been linked with clubs while the club has released Anthony Elding and Steve Collis in order to cut the wage bill.
