Crewe's search for a replacement for the departed Ben Williams is over after the club announced that they had signed Steve Collis on a free transfer from Southend United.
27-year-old Collis will be Crewe's number one keeper with Adam Legdzins hoping to oust the former Barnet, Nottingham Forest and Yeovil Town keeper.
Collis has penned a two-year deal at the Alexandra Stadium and will look for a long stint in goal after the player made 20 appearances last season for the Shrimpers.
