With a big clear out at Gresty Road looming, it seems that one player is trying to win himself a contract with a Championship club.
Justin Cochrane appeared for Luton Town reserves in a 1-1 draw against Stevenage Borough and to cap it off he scored for them. His strike in the first half came in their final reserve match in the Pontins Holiday Combination Division which saw Luton Town finish top of that league.
The 24-year-old midfielder whose contract is out during the summer has already had a spell at League One outfit Gillingham making five appearances and scoring a goal as they avoided relegation.
Justin was signed for £50k in July 2003 from non-league Hayes after he impressed during a pre-season game against Everton. After a sterling performance he was signed up straight away and during his first season at Crewe made 39(2 Sub) appearances that season and followed that up with 29(8 Sub) appearances the season after. This season though has been one to forget with him making only 4(2 Sub) appearances in a Crewe shirt and with alleged conflicts of interest between the player and management and some mediocre performances in the Cheshire Senior Cup more or resigned him to the wilderness. With his contract up in the summer at the Alex it looks like one of the fans favourite could by plying his trade back in the Championship. Everyone I'm sure would like to thank Justin for his service and wish him good luck.
