It seems that the Crewe management team could reconsider a move for former favorite Kenny Lunt after the club was dealt with the news that Steven Schumacher would be out for six weeks.
Lunt who left the Railwaymen on a free transfer in the summer of 2006 to Championship side Sheffield Wednesday has been told he can go out on loan after finding himself down the pecking order.
Earlier in the week technical director Dario Gradi ruled out a loan move for Lunt but with the injury to Schumacher it seems they could make a move before the weekend.
Crewe assistant boss Neil Baker told www.thisischeshire.co.uk "Kenny is something we might discuss again.
"Steven's only just suffered the injury so we've got to discuss our options. Whether Schumacher's injury makes a difference, we will have to decide.
"Kenny's got experience, which is always helpful."
"It's come at a bad time," he said. "Schumacher's injury is a blow, even though he's not been in the team. He's been doing well - but he is a good lad and will get on with it.
"We're not sure how long he will be out, but with ligaments it could be a while.
