The club had the hearing at Soho Square at 1pm and had put a strong case forward with the appeal costing the club in the region of £500 but it was all in vain.

Jones will now sit out tonight's must win game against Peterborough United as the sending off only carried a one match ban.

Crewe boss Steve Holland already has a depleated back line for tonight's game with club skipper Julien Baudet, George Abbey and Chris McCready ruled out. Also facing a late fitness test is Danny Woodards but Dennis Lawrence has declared himself fit so John Brayford loos set for a recall to the starting XI.
