The club are working flat out to try and bring in another striker to the club, with the Lee Barnard deal almost done Crewe have turned their attentions to two Manchester City strikers.

Ishmael Miller and Daniel Sturridge are the two now linked and technical director Dario Gradi told The Crewe Chronicle "'Steve has spoken to Alex Gibson about players at Manchester City, but I don't think anything is imminent there. There is another one which could happen and we are reasonably close"

Ishmael Miller is a loan target for WBA and manager Tony Mowbray has enquired about adding him to the Hawthorns outfit. Saying that if Miller were to move to WBA it would almost for certain push a certain John Hartson through the door.
Sturridge on the other hand is rated very highly and was being watched by Chelsea due to his goal scoring exploits at Academy and reserve level for the Eastlands club.

Sturridge would be the better option and with Sven Goran-Eriksson already having a big choice of striker a loan move would suit Sturridge.
