Manchester City are believed to be preparing a bid for Crewe's Welsh International David Vaughan. Vaughan has made two appearances for Wales in this past week with the second of these highlighting his class and confirming him as a player worthy of the Premiership.
Kiki Musampa currently fills the left sided midfield slot for Man City though his loan deal expires at the end of this season. It is believed that Stuart Pearce sees Vaughan as the long-term replacement for Musampa and has been spotted on various occasions watching Vaughan.
Should Man City decide to pursue their interest in the 22 year-old 'Welsh Wizard', it is likely that City will have to stump up around £2m. Despite Pearce's active interest in Vaughan, it may well be that they wait until the summer to launch any bid once Musampa's loan deal has expired.
Vaughan is, however, a doubt for tomorrow's match against Luton having suffered a slight muscle strain whilst playing for Wales.
