Crewe look set to sign Simon Church from Premiership side Reading and the 18-year-old striker will go straight into the squad to face Luton Town this Saturday.
The Welsh U-21 international looks set to partner Lee Barnard in attack as the Railwaymen look to halt the slide down League One.
Crewe hope that the signing could be what the management team are praying for and add a few goals that the club has been lacking over recent weeks.
Church who has come through the academy at the Berkshire Club has yet to feature in the first team but got his first cap for Wales against Sweden in August when he came on the bench in the 76min.

He made his full Welsh debut this week and scored in a 3-1 win over Malta.
