22-year-old Pope picked up the injury last week but played in the 1-1 draw away to Walsall on Easter Monday.

Pope picked up the injury in a freak accident at the clubs training ground whilst the player was in the hydro-pool.
X-rays confirmed a small break in his toe that will keep the Stoke born striker out for four weeks.

Pope had played his part in recent games as Steve Holland opted for a three-man attack with Popr netting two in the last three games for the Railwaymen as they battle to avoid the drop.

Steve Holland told the official site "Tom has broken a toe after a bit of a freakish accident. He was cooling down after the Hartlepool game, preparing for the Walsall game when he caught his toe on the floor of the hydro-pool.

"He played on the Monday but his toe blew up afterwards. A scan later revealed that he has suffered a break there and he will do very well to play again this season. It is a blow for Tom and it is a blow to us because our forward line had started to look something like."

"It is something we have had to cope with all season. We have had five players who have needed operations and another one (Gary Roberts) impending for the summer. Nicky broke his leg on the opening day, Billy Jones, Neil Cox, Michael O'Connor and Ben Rix have all needed surgery and now we have Tom with a broken toe to round it off."
