23-year-old Legzdins had turned down a one-year deal at Crewe in May saying he wanted regular firat team action.

He signed a two-year deal with the Brewers that keeps him at the Pirelli Stadium until 2012.

Legzdins told Burton Albions official site "I am really looking forward to joining Burton. I spoke to John Brayford and he told me what a good set-up it is here at Burton,"

"I am also looking forward to working with Kevin Poole again who was one of my coaches when I was younger at Birmingham City. I can't wait to get playing again and hopefully helping Burton to have a good season."

Burton boss Paul Peschisolido added: "Kevin Poole has worked with him before and was very complimentary about him. It was a position we certainly needed to strengthen.

"He is a young lad, the potential is there once again and I feel he is a great acquisition for the club."
